The Student House

General information

The Student House facilitate the social association “Studenterhuset i Birk” which was founded by and for the students in Birk.

We are currently running the Café “StudenterCaféen” Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-11 PM, and the fitness room is available 24/7.

Appart from the everyday cleaning everything is man powered by volunteers. We need about 50 people to run the place, and there is always room for good ideas and a helping hand. Please use the contact form if you have anything you would like to share with us!

As we get a lot of e-mails about housing, let’s get a few things straight:

Can I rent the café with bartenders if I want to have a big party? YES! Let’s check out how that works :)

Can I rent a room at the Student House? No, you have to contact the housing company Fruehojgaard by e-mail.

How do I become a member of the Student House? Check out the rules of membership.

What do I get being a member? 24/7 access to the fitness room and 5kr. discount on most drinks on normal café nights.

Membership

  • Residents of Birk Campus and Egelunden
  • Students of AU-Herning and TEKO
  • Tenants at Birk Estate

As the membership fee is collected by Fruehøjgaard, you need to contact them by e-mail to become a member. They will need a fitting picture of you and some kind of ID, mostly student cards.

Please notice, that we are relying heavily on you members! Rent, heat and electricity can only be paid, if we all participate, therefore it is not allowed to share membership. The use of others membership cards will conclude in withdraw of the used card and expulsion of the person.
